Suche nach wheaten oder lightwheaten

Hello Katja,

I will answer in Englisch, my German is not so good that I can write it correctly.

We have 2 wheaten-coloured ridgebacks. We also participate to shows with them and most of the time they are the most lightcoloured dogs. We are very proud of that.

I agree that there are not so many wheaten-ridgebacks anymore, the most are very dark (red).

They are just as healthy as the other colours. Our breeder loves livernoses, they are needed to keep the dark hairs out of the ridgeback. If we will breed darker and darker the ridgebacks will have more, and more black hairs and that is not good.

Hi Esther,

I don't think your (very beautiful) dogs have the colour, Katja is searching for... they both look light to medium "red wheaten" to me...

Real "wheaten" or "light wheaten" is not as red, more like - as the name says - fields of wheat... with a touch of gold in the evening sun...

Ich denke, in Skandinavien sind die helleren RRs eher verbreitet.
Habe zwar auch einen hellweizenfarbenen Livernose-Rüden, aber die Farbe
ist wieder ganz anders wie von Vanja.

At the pictures they look darker than they are but their absolutely not so light-couloured as Vanja .

They are not red but seeing the picture of Vanja I think they are medium-coulored. But still lighter than the most dogs in Holland. In Tsjechië some dogs are also wheaten-couloured. Maybe you can find some dog over there.

Hi.. also zum Hund Vanja... ICH BIN SPRACHLOS... Sowas von bezaubernd, schick ... hab Ich noch nie gesehen!!! Die Farbe hat sowas Besonderes, wahrscheinlich auch weil es sie eben nicht so oft gibt

@Kiki... Dein Rüde und die eine Hündin sind aber auch sehr schön hell... zumindest heller als alle anderen *Adresseaufschreib*

Im Grunde suche Ich entweder einen hellen RR zum decken für meine RR Hündin ( aber erst nächstes Jahr ) oder wollte mir dann einen dazu kaufen. Aus Erfahrung weiß Ich das es immer gut ist sich rechtzeitig zu informieren und ein paar Hunde vielleicht einmal live miterleben zu können da man rein von den Fotos auch getäuscht werden kann und man den Charakter nicht sieht.

Danke schon mal für Eure Bemühungen... bin schon fleissig am Notieren der ganzen Adressen. Vielleicht sieht man sich ja mal
